The Beginner Class is suitable for suitable for anyone from complete beginners and those who are have done some Pilates before, but want to master the basics. We introduce you to the equipment and some of the basic exercises. We also teach you how to activate your abdominal muscles; glutes and back muscles.

The goals of the classes are
- Core Muscle Activation
- Strong and Healthy Spines
- Joint and Spinal Mobility
- Dynamic and Static Strength
This is a safe environment where there is more attention to the technique and teaching, while still getting a great workout.
Our instructors are experienced to be able to see what your abilities are quickly and then adapt the exercises as they develop the flow of the class.
Damian Wyard Physiotherapist, founder of Pilates4Physio and our instructors have developed classes based on correct activation of the core muscles in the body. Beginner classes focus on correct form, core muscle activation, joint and spinal mobility, dynamic and static strength, and core muscle awareness.
A note about injuries
These classes are not a substitute for treatment or rehabilitation, if you have an injury or pain. The focus of the classes is fitness-based.
Within reasonable limits, our instructors can modify exercises if you are managing an injury. However we cannot assess and treat in a class, regardless of the qualifications of the instructor.
If you have an injury/condition and you are not sure if the class is suitable, fee free to contact us: info@pilates4physio.ca.
If you have an acute injury or pain, you can book a physiotherapy assessment with our registered physiotherapist. Some of our physiotherapy treatment plans are also Pilates-based using the equipment.
If you are experiencing joint stiffness, muscle tightness and general weakness, then the classes are appropriate. Movement and strengthening is very beneficial for these conditions.

When you sign up for a class, you will be asked to complete the online INTAKE FORM and WAIVER. We must receive these ELECTRONICALLY before your first class. You will receive a link to both these forms when you receive the class reminder.
